Overlapping BS Between Idle to Active Video Stream Transition

Overlapping BS Between Idle to Active Video Stream Transition

Description: There is a known issue where the BS (Blanking Start) of the idle pattern, which occurs at every 8192th symbol, overlaps with the BS of the active video stream during transition from idle to active mode.

This overlap causes the IP to violate the requirements defined in DisplayPort Specification Section 2.2.1.3, specifically:

  • The Mvid least significant 8 bits must be cleared to 00h
  • The Mvid least significant 8 bits must be transmitted four times on the main link at frame start, and all transmitted values must be identical

As a result, users may observe intermittent display glitches during the transition from idle to active video stream. This issue does not affect continuous streaming, as idle pattern insertion is fully disabled during active video operation.

Resolution: This issue will be addressed in the next version of the DisplayPort IP release.
