7074 - ModelSim: How do you export data to a CSV file?

Description:

There is no direct way of exporting as a CSV file in ModelSim without using Tcl scripts or RTL. However, data can be exported as a Tabular list that can then be converted to CSV in an external application like MS Excel. The following steps show how to export to Tabular list:

Compile and Run the simulation
Under View, click List. This will open a new List window.
Select the signals on the Wave window
Right-click, then select Add > To List.
Go back to the main simulation window
Click File > Export > Tabular List. It should export a .lst file.
Then, you may save this as .csv in Excel.
