Lattice Diamond: Does Lattice recommend porting/converting of IP from different device with different IP version?

Lattice does not recommend users to do porting/conversion of IP from/to different device in different IP versions.

Example:

FFT Compiler v2.8 does not support ECP5 device.
FFT Compiler v2.9 supports ECP5 device.

If user used FFT Compiler v2.8 and generates XP2 device in IP Express. Importing it to FFT Compiler v2.9 using ECP5 device in Clarity Designer will result an error.

If user generates FFT Compiler v2.9 with an XP2 device and tries to import the IP to FFT Compiler v2.9 to convert to ECP5 device, customer might encounter an error since they are in different device. Lattice only recommends importing of IP with same device and same IP product as long the old and new version of IP supports same device.
