All Nexus / Radiant version 2023.1 or earlier: Are there any guidelines when changing the speed grades for Place & Route Design and Place & Route Timing Analysis on the strategy settings?

It is not recommended to change the default speed grade settings for both the Place & Route (PAR) Design and Place & Route Timing Analysis.

DEFAULT VALUES:
The default values (especially for HOLD) are for worst case timing calculations. For PAR Design, the HOLD is set to default (which is m) and the SETUP is set to default (which is the customer selected device speed grade on the Device Selector).
For PAR Timing Analysis, the HOLD is set to m and the SETUP is set to default (which is again the speed grade selected from the Device Selector window when you create the project).

EXPERIMENTATION GUIDELINES:
In case the customer wants to change this for experimentation, i.e. change the HOLD or SETUP speed grade, they need to make sure that the PAR design speed grades are matched with the PAR Timing Analysis speed grades. Otherwise, they would have different HOLD or SETUP slack values from the PAR design corrections vs the PAR timing analysis.
