7712 - Propel Builder v2024.2: Why adding AXI4 component to a design increases the minimum address range of other AHBL/APB peripheral IP to 4K
Description:
In Propel Builder v2024.2, an enhancement was made to AXI components, setting a minimum address depth of 4KB. This change ensures that AXI4 transactions operate within a 4KB address boundary, promoting efficient data transfer and preventing page boundary crossings. This alignment requirement helps maintain performance and consistency across various peripheral interfaces.
However, this update inadvertently introduced a tool bug, causing AHBL and APB peripheral IPs not connected to the AXI network to also have a minimum address depth of 4KB.
Workaround:
1. Removed AXI component and regenerate AHBL and APB peripheral IPs to revert back to correct address depth.
2. Add back AXI component, do not regenerate AHBL and APB peripherals IPs.
3. Regenerate your project.
Solution:
This issue is planned to be fixed in upcoming release of Propel Builder tool.
