7494 - Radiant: Why does the "Regenerate All IP" not show the higher versions of the IP in the selection dialogue?
The "Regenerate IP" by default, only looks for the version that is used in the design and will not catch the existing higher versions of the IP since it only functions as a way to reconfigure the existing IP version.
If the user uninstalls the IP in Radiant, the "Regenerate IP" will be forced to look for other IP versions for reconfiguration. A warning will prompt saying that the IP version used on the design cannot be found locally and can be replaced by the existing IP versions that are currently installed. However, the configuration of the old IP might be lost. By then, the user should be able to see the other IP versions on the selection dialogue.
When using Radiant 2023.2 or above versions, it is recommended to use the ip_upgrade TCL command to properly upgrade the existing IP to a higher version.
Please see the "IP Version Update Tcl Commands" on Radiant Help for more information on how to use the command.
