Parts listed as 'Mature' are often still available for purchase from Lattice long after
being listed as mature. The mature status indicates that newer devices are
available that would better suit today's designs. Mature devices remain available
for as long as there is sufficient demand as well as fab capacity.
Lattice cannot predict how long these factors will exist. It is always advisable to implement new designs with
newer devices. Likewise, migrating older designs to newer devices as soon as possible exposes you to fewer supply interruptions down the road.
Lattice will begin the Product Change Notification (PCN) phase for mature devices once Lattice is able to predict a phase out date. Once it is decided to phase out a mature device, a PCN will be sent out giving at least 6 months to place last time buy orders and an additional 6 months to take delivery of those orders. Beyond this time frame, any remaining devices will generally be available from Lattice distributors for End-of-Life Products: Rochester Electronics, Arrow Electronics or Flip Electronics.
