6748 - Diamond 3.10 SP2: Is Debian 4.9.88 working for this software version? Why this only happens as superuser?

Description:
This is more of linux-related problem. The MIT-SHM extension uses shared memory (between X and the application) for the graphics buffer, which should make things faster, because the graphics data does not have to be copied around.

Solution
You may try this solution, open up /etc/environment in a text editor as root and insert the following then save and close the editor:

QT_X11_NO_MITSHM=1. Then do reboot. QT_X11_NO_MITSHM=1 tells Qt to not use MIT-SHM (Shared memory) so should be safer security-wise in any case.
