The HVOUT signal should be connected to the gate of the MOSFET in order to turn it on. There is typically no minimum gate current requirement for a MOSFET in order to turn it on. The current supplied to the MOSFET gate will determine how fast it turns on. Therefore the current setting within the PAC-Designer software will only affect the speed at which the MOSFET turns on. This can be verified by using the HVOUT Simulator Utility which is contained in PAC-Designer. This utility is available under "Tools" menu in PAC-Designer and is listed as the PowerManager_HVOUT_Sim.exe.
